I am starting my blog with photographs of my recent paintings. As I go along, I'll add paintings of some of my earlier work to share with you my journey. I hope you enjoy the paintings.
I live and work in Dallas where I have enjoyed a long and creative career in architecture, supplimented with my art. Recently, I have made painting my primary endeavor and have studied at the Taos Institute of Art, Fredericksburg Artist School and Southern Methodist University. I have been fortunate to have studied with some of the best artists in the country including Ray Vinella, John Budicin, Don Ward, Ann Cushing Gantz and Lawanda Calton and love the challenges of trying to live up to the principles learned from them. My first priority is striving for individuality of every subject I paint. To achieve this, I apply the principles of composition and color to create a unique mood in each painting. My inspiration comes from traveling to locations to gather first-hand observations and often to paint plein aire. Collectors enjoy paintings of places they have seen and find pleasure in reliving these experiences in a work of art. Thank you for viewing my blog and please feel free to view my complete profile.
